November Volunteer of the Month – Tim Lipsett

News Image

Congratulations to Tim on being selected as our very first Volunteer of the Month! He shared a little about himself and why he’s so passionate about volunteering with WHC:

“Our two boys, Miles and Max, have been on many WHC teams throughout their hockey paths so far, from House League (during COVID) to Timbits, U9, U11, and U13. One thing we always try to do is volunteer for any and all positions that need to be filled. I have been an assistant coach; we have been jersey parents, treasurer, parent liaison. We have done check-in tables and on-ice help during conditioning camps and pathways. We’ve worked the penalty box, score board, and my favorite (although not actually a volunteer position): the music between whistles.

Being part of the team helps keep us invested in our kids’ love for the game of hockey. It also makes the season run smoothly—and if you’re at the rink anyway, it’s easy to help. It’s very important to us to keep them active while having fun in a team atmosphere, learning hard work and discipline. What better way than WHC hockey? Let’s go Wolverines!”

Please join me in giving Tim a very well-deserved thank you for all his contributions! For his efforts, he is being awarded a night out at Stage West!
