Hello Wolverines – Please join us in giving a big shoutout to Valentyna Naboka!  Valentyna is a busy mom to 3 Wolverines and is a first time manager for 2 teams 😊

Valentyna has shared a bit about her volunteer journey and just what the Wolverines has meant to her:

“When the coaches asked who would like to be a team manager, I said I would for both teams. I’m a team manager for U7 JR1 and U9 4 Gold. This is my first time being a manager, so I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew it would be fun! We have an amazing group of parents, many of whom are actively involved. It’s truly a community, not just a hockey team.

I organized Blueline Buddies for both teams earlier in the season. These beautiful experiences brought tears to my eyes. During the game, I thought, I wish they would play a video to thank all the parents who have supported these players for years. It takes so much from a family to raise a hockey player, no matter what level they play. Without parents volunteering and stepping up to coach, planning tournaments, running fundraising events, washing 20 jerseys by hand, bringing sweets and treats to make the kids happy, or helping out when someone can’t drive their kid to a game, most families wouldn’t be able to afford hockey.

I’m so glad I have families on both teams who understand the huge difference they make in children’s lives by volunteering. I can’t say enough how appreciated they are.”
